Applying for Financial AssistanceIf you are applying for need-based financial aid, you should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 each year to be considered for all programs and list SIUE (code 001759) to receive the processed information. If you apply later than March 1, you will find that funds in some programs are no longer available. The application may be submitted via a paper form or on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you have not previously submitted an application for federal student aid, you will submit the regular FAFSA. If you are a previous applicant, you may apply with a renewal FAFSA. Continuing students may use either the renewal application or the regular FAFSA. All undergraduates applying with a FAFSA will automatically receive consideration for the Pell Grant the primary undergraduate grant program. Illinois residents will also be considered for the state's Monetary Award Program (MAP). Paper applications are available through high schools, public libraries, Educational Opportunity Centers, and the Office of Student Financial Aid. |
